Recognizing the People Who Build Our Community

At our club, our goal has always been to give back, not just to students. We want to support everyone who plays a role in our school community, including those who often go unnoticed.

Recently, we had the chance to give back to the construction crew from Edwards Construction Group, who are currently working hard on major improvements across our campus, including renovations to the 300 buildings and upgrades to our seismic mitigation systems. After hosting a fundraiser with Nobibi Buena Park, we were able to put together over 15 care kits filled with sunscreen, snacks, water, and handwritten cards to support workers spending long hours in the sun. Being able to personally deliver these made the experience even more meaningful and real to us.

Earlier this year, we also partnered with a nonprofit organization called Charity on Wheels to donate hygiene kits for the homeless during the holiday season, which was an incredibly eye-opening experience. That opportunity reminded us how fortunate we are, and it inspired us to continue giving back in ways that matter. Being able to do something similar within our own school community felt especially meaningful, knowing that these construction workers work tirelessly every day to make our campus a better place for us.

This project reflects what our club truly stands for: expanding our idea of "community" and finding ways to show appreciation to people both inside and outside the classroom. We're incredibly grateful to Edwards Construction Group for all their hard work and for accepting our donation, and we hope to continue creating more opportunities like this in the future.
